When people ask why I opened Liro, the answer is actually pretty simple.
After more than sixteen years of teaching Pilates and a career in nursing, I felt ready to create a space that reflected everything I'd learned about caring for people.
Throughout my nursing career, I've worked in multiple specialties, including neurology, neurosurgery and pain management. At the same time, I've had the privilege of teaching Pilates and watching it change the way people move, recover, and live their everyday lives. Those two careers may seem very different, but to me they've always shared the same purpose: both are about helping people feel better in their bodies.
Over the years, I came to realize I wasn't just passionate about teaching Pilates. I cared deeply about the environment people were walking into. I wanted to create a studio that felt calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. A place where people could set aside the distractions of the day, focus on themselves for an hour, and leave feeling stronger, steadier, and more grounded than when they arrived.
That vision became Liro.
My nursing background continues to shape the way I teach. It taught me to listen first, to look beyond symptoms, and to see each person as a whole rather than a collection of aches and pains. Every client comes through our doors with a different story, different goals, and different experiences, and I believe good teaching begins with understanding those things.
You'll notice that we move with intention here. We don't rush through exercises just to make class feel harder. We slow down when it matters. We pay attention to the details. We focus on quality over quantity because that's where meaningful progress happens. The classes are intentionally small so we can offer thoughtful coaching, individual feedback, and the kind of attention that's difficult to find in a larger studio. Whether you're brand new to Pilates or you've been practicing for years, I want you to feel supported, challenged, and encouraged every step of the way.
More than anything, I hope Liro becomes a place people trust. A place known for excellent instruction, evidence-based movement, and genuine hospitality. A place where people feel welcome exactly as they are, where friendships are built, and where movement becomes something you look forward to rather than another item on your to-do list.
If you're considering joining us, I'm so glad you're here. I hope Liro becomes a place where you build strength, find community, and discover just how much Pilates can change the way you move through life.
I can't wait to welcome you into the studio!
