For Your First Visit

Starting something new can feel exciting, but it can also come with a few nerves. If you're wondering whether you'll know what you're doing, whether Pilates is "for you," or what to expect when you walk through our doors, you're in good company. Nearly everyone feels that way before their first class.

At Liro, we've designed your first experience to feel thoughtful, welcoming, and unrushed. We believe confidence begins long before your first group class, which is why every new client starts with our Foundations experience.

Why We Start with Foundations

Rather than jumping straight into a full class, every new client begins with our Foundations Workshop. It's our way of making sure you feel prepared, supported, and confident from the very beginning. During your Foundations experience, you'll become familiar with the reformer, learn the movement principles that shape every class we teach, and get to know our teaching style in a relaxed, personalized setting.

Whether you're stepping onto a reformer for the first time or you've practiced Pilates for years, Foundations allows us to meet you where you are and guide you toward the class that's the best fit for your goals. Our hope is simple: by the time you walk into your first group class, you'll already feel like you belong.

What to Expect When You Arrive

From the moment you walk through the door, we want you to feel like you can take a deep breath. Our studio is intentionally calm, clean, and welcoming. There aren't loud lights, crowded rooms, or pressure to perform. Instead, you'll find a space designed to help you slow down, focus on your movement, and leave the outside world at the door for a little while.

Parking is easy, our class sizes are intentionally small, and we'll be there to greet you when you arrive.

What Should You Wear?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows you to move freely. Most clients wear leggings or athletic shorts with a fitted top. Grip socks are required for reformer classes. If you already own a pair, bring them with you. If not, we'll have them available for purchase at the studio. *Please avoid clothing with zippers or anything that could damage the equipment.

Do I Need Experience?

Not at all.

Some of our clients have never taken a Pilates class before. Others have practiced for years. Because everyone begins with Foundations, we all start from the same place. You'll learn our approach, our cues, and the movement principles that make every class feel familiar. You don't need to "get in shape" before coming to Pilates all you need to do is show up ready to move.

What Makes Liro Different?

Pilates is about much more than completing exercises. It's about moving with intention, building lasting strength and learning to trust your body again. At Liro, every cue is purposeful, every class is thoughtfully planned, and every client receives individual attention. Jess brings more than sixteen years of teaching experience together with a nursing background spanning neurology, neurosurgery, pain management, and emergency medicine. That combination allows her to understand movement through both a clinical and deeply human lens.

Most importantly, Liro is a place where you don't have to earn your belonging. Whether you're having a great day or a difficult one, you're welcome here.

A Few Helpful Tips

• Arrive about 10 minutes early so you can settle in.
• Wear comfortable clothing and grip socks.
• Bring a water bottle.
• Let your instructor know about any injuries, surgeries, pregnancies, or concerns before class begins.
• Come with curiosity, not expectations. There's nothing to prove.

We hope your time at Liro becomes more than another workout on your calendar. Our goal is for every class to help you leave feeling a little stronger, a little calmer, and a little more connected to yourself than when you arrived.
